  • Micro Needling
RF Micro needling is basically a micro needle unit that delivers RF (Radio Frequency) technology on the underlayers of the skin, heating the tissue to promote the growth of new collagen.
During RF micro needling treatment a hand piece will be lightly moved across your skin. Some laser techs will add a product to be introduced to your skin, but that is specific to the place that you go.
This treatment is marketed as painless but I would recommend asking your laser tech to apply a numbing cream to your face first because, if they do it right (meaning strong enough to make a difference), you WILL feel it.
After the procedure, you will notice slight reddening of the skin and possibly some swelling. Within the next couple of days, you may experience some bruising, which is caused by the pooling of blood in the deeper layers of skin, but those will go away at the same rate as you normally bruise.
Within the next few weeks you’ll notice a tightening of the skin. Unlike micro needling without the RF, immediate results will be harder to notice as you must allow the healing process to occur.
There are several brands of RF Micro needling units that doctors use. The EndyMed™ Intensif and the Infini™ by Lutronic® are the two most common, both delivering similar results.  But, the new gold standard would be the Profound by Syneron-Candela®.
What is Dual Mode Microneedling?
Dual mode micro needling is the ability of a radiofrequency unit to use both MFR (Microneedle Fractional Radiofrequency) and SFR (Superficial Fractional Radiofrequency) during one treatment.
MFR employs micro needles to apply radio frequency energy to the underlayers of the skin, while SFR uses solely RF energy which treats the outer layers of the skin. Dual Mode micro needling allows the technician to treat the epidermis without micro needling as well as being able to deliver electro-thermal energy to the under layers of the skin with micro-needles up to a 200-micrometer depth.
Dual Mode Micro needling triggers Neocollagenesis and Elastogenisis in the skin, both which are necessary for optimal skin tightening.
The happy part, and the whole point of causing controlled damage, is that our fibroblasts will produce much more collagen than was damaged, plumping up our skin, and reversing signs of aging such as skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen takes about 4 to 10 weeks to grow, the ultimate reparation happening anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on how your body heals.

🦋What should I avoid on my skin after treatment?
AHA’s (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or “active” ingredients should not be used for 2-3 days after treatment to allow for maximum healing. Sun exposure is not recommended and sunscreen is encouraged.

🦋How many treatments do I need and how often can Medical Micro Needling procedures be repeated?
Micro needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks as needed. Collagen induction requires at least 3 treatments, while scar reduction requires between 3 and 6. 4 to 6 weeks should pass between one treatment and the next, and the number of treatments needed depends on individual cases. Micro needling can be used on all parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc.)
Usually results begin to appear after the first treatment.

🦋What is the down time after Medical Micro-Needling treatment?
Inflammation of the skin is very temporary and reduces greatly within a few hours. It may remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours after treatment. Using hyaluronic acid after the procedure can help reduce inflammation, and sunscreen can be used to protect the skin. Makeup use should be limited to mineral makeup.

🦋What are the benefits of Medical Micro-Needling?
Some of the known benefits of Medical micro needling include: greatly improves topical cream effectiveness and penetration, stimulates blood circulation and collagen production, needles are non-allergenic, cost effective compared to other resurfacing procedures, works on all skin types, and can treat the scalp, face, and body, including skin around the eyes, mouth and neck.

🦋What effects does the Medical Micro-Needling have on the skin?
Medical micro needling is known to improve many aspects of the skin including, but not limited to: improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, regenerates tissue, improves the appearance of scars, reduces the size of pores, and reduces the appearance of stretch marks.
